We Are Thankful for Our Freedom Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving, what a combination! The leaves have fallen, the grass is brown, and inside where it is warm, we celebrate our freedom to be nude and kids again. On Veteran's Day weekend, we will thank those who made this possible, and on Thanksgiving Day, we shall be thankful and feast as a family in the lodge. Even though the outdoor pool is closed, and the air a bit chilly, this is the perfect time to come to West Virginia and enjoy our inside nude environment. Rent a lodge room, and you can soak in the hot tub, eat your meals, dance the night away, play pool, do water aerobics, and just relax, all inside and without clothing. Ah, yes, life is good! Some of the things to do are: Read a book by the fireplace Wear your military hat to the Veteran's Day dance and get a free drink Watch the deer on the front lawn in the very early morning Enjoy Thanksgiving dinner without a waist band to stop you Play a game of Pool in the Nidsino Sweat in the sauna, then take a dip in the pool Snuggle together in your tent Soak in the hot tub and meet others Do a jig saw puzzle - nude! TEMPORARY CLOSING IN DECEMBER

Avalon Resort, including the lodge, restaurant and bars, and pool building will not be in operation during the month of December this year. History has shown that this is the better period for this temporary four week closing when our members are not present, residents are engaged in other activities and there is very, very little guest occupancy.

This will allow for:

• A vacation period for our staff members - Avalon staff work every weekend & Holiday throughout the year
• Savings in energy and other operating costs
• Reduction of overall winter financial losses
• A review of operations when expenses far exceed revenues

We recognize that this will cause an inconvenience for a few, but it is prudent at this time to allow for continued operations throughout the balance of the year. Details for this temporary break in operations are available by contacting Avalon office by telephone or email at vacation@avalon-resort.com . Some specifics are:

• The affective period will begin on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at 9:00pm immediately following Thanksgiving weekend.
• Avalon will reopen on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 in preparation for the Nude Year's Eve Gala Party and New Year's Weekend. Guests will be accommodated in the lodge and condos beginning on Tuesday, December 30.
• The Avalon Office will operate daily, 9:00am-5:00pm for reservations, telephone inquires and administrative functions.
• The campground will be accessible to all campers who currently have leases and bath houses will remain heated and operating.
• Gate access to Avalon Resort or Somerset Community will remain unchanged.
• There will be no access to the Avalon lodge, pools, spas, bars or restaurants during this period. Building and water temperatures will remain at an above freezing level.
• Food and beverage services will resume on Tuesday, December 30, 2008.
